Cady Hill Forest Conservation Project

Stowe Land Trust is currently working to protect Cady Hill Forest - 260 acres adjacent to the 60 acre Macutchan Forest, and known by many as the “Town Loops trails”.  SLT has been working closely with the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, the Open Space Institute, the Town of Stowe and various partners on this effort since May, 2011.  Once complete, SLT will donate the entire property to the Town of Stowe.  Read more.

Mill Trail Cabin Historic Restoration

The Mill Trail Cabin is situated on a 31 acre parcel purchased by Stowe Land Trust in 2003 and protected with a conservation easement co-held by SLT and Vermont Land Trust.  Since taking ownership of the property, Stowe Land Trust’s goal has been to keep the Cabin’s remarkable story alive.  With recreation continuing to play a major role in the economy and quality of life in Stowe, restoration of the Moravian Cabin will allow access to the outdoors in much the same way it did in the 1930’s.  Read more.
