Conservation Projects
Stowe Land Trust is working in Morristown! With the help and guidance of the Morristown Conservation Commission, Stowe Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy have just completed the protection of Joe's Bog. This bog provides a critical link between the Joe's Pond ecosystem and Morristown Bog, a state-owned Natural Area. The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board was a major financial partner in this project and co-holds the easement with SLT. 29 beautiful acres of bog and agricultural lands have been saved, teeming with amphibian and avian life. SLT commends the partnership as an example of how non-profits, government and local communities can work together to save ecologically important areas.

These photos were all taken at the newly conserved Morristown Bog with the exception of the last one, which shows SLT and the landowners closing on the easement!
