Wiessner Woods - Weekly Mud Season Web Camera!
It's mud season in Stowe. Rain and snow melt from higher elevations are flooding streams and small drainages making hiking trails in the area very wet and muddy. Hiking on trails this time of year accelerates erosion on the trail and causes damage to surrounding vegetation as we look for routes around the mud.
Stowe Land Trust is asking folks to consider walking on dirt roads, recreation paths and lower elevation trails this time of year to give the trails a chance to dry out. Because Wiessner Woods is such a popular place to hike we are bringing you weekly web camera updates showing you the condition of the trails so you can be the first to get out and enjoy Spring at Wiessner Woods!

All but the most persistent snow has melted giving way to spring wildlflowers at Wiessner Woods. Watch for the wet spots that remain on some parts of the trail. Remember to do the rock walk or walk through the mud to prevent erosion.
Happy Trails!
