Timber and Stone, LLC Replaces Meadow Trail Bridges

In July 2006 Timber and Stone, LLC was hired by Stowe Land Trust to rebuild bridges along the popular Meadow Trail Loop.

While we’ve seen the popularity of Wiessner Woods grow, the need for trail and bridge work demands constant attention.  This work represents SLT’s commitment to the ongoing stewardship of its conserved properties.  We strive to not only preserve the special places in our town, but to maintain them at a level that allows for the enjoyment of their visitors.

Stowe Land Trust has been working to replace many of the old and deteriorating bridges and raised planking in Wiessner Woods. If you would like to volunteer your time on this project, or if you are able to help financially, or donate materials, we welcome your assistance. Thanks!

VYCC Completes Relocation of Howard Carroll Memorial Bridge

In 2005 Stowe Land Trust welcomed VYCC for a second year of bridge construction in Wiessner Woods.  Many had observed the deterioration of the old Howard Carroll Memorial Bridge.  The hard-working crew, along with several volunteers relocated a small portion of the trail and built the new bridge in less than one week's time!

The new HC Memorial Bridge was completed in July 2005.
