Stowe Land Trust Events

- Wiessner Woods workday crew, 2005
Stowe Land Trust hosts a number of exciting and unique events. These events increase awareness of SLT's work in the community, provide financial support for the organization and give our members an opportunity to get together and have fun.
Some Stowe Land Trust events are held annually. The Stowe Land Trust Invitational Golf Tournament, held at the beautiful West Hill Golf Course, is SLT's biggest fundraiser. The tournament is held every year in August. Stowe Land Trust also hosts an Annual Meeting every fall and a Wiessner Woods work party every spring.
The "Get Your Green Raffle" was held for the first time in 2004. In response to the community's enthusiasm and the success of the event, SLT decided to hold the raffle again in 2005. Stowe Land Trust also holds annual workdays on various conserved properties every year to prepare the trails for summer use.
Stowe Land Trust hosts some events on a one-time basis. These events are generally educational. Examples include map and compass workshops, slideshows about unusual or adventurous travel experiences, and community conservation workshops. In 2004, Stowe Land Trust sponsored an ecotourism trip to Alaska. Stowe Land Trust also periodically hosts snowshoeing day trips, group hikes, cocktail parties and silent auctions.
