Are you concerned about the invasive Emerald Ash Borer insect and its impact on Vermont's ash trees?
Join Stowe Land Trust Stewardship Director Carolyn Loeb, Vermont Land Trust Forester Caitlin Cusack, and Forest Stewards Guild and Sustaining Ash Partners Network Northeast Program Manager Rachel Swanwick, for a fall walk in the woods at DuMont Meadow. Get your questions answered, hear how these organizations are approaching ash management for the future, and visit a newly protected group of ash trees.
This walk will last about 1.5 hours and participants will stroll approximately ¾ of a mile on a moderate dirt tread trail to visit a new ash preservation patch.
Sturdy shoes, layers, water, and snacks are recommended.
Due to limited parking onsite at DuMont Meadow, participants will meet walk leaders at the nearby Moscow Recreation Field at 3:15 pm and will carpool to the walk start.
The rain date for this walk is Saturday, October 10th from 10:30 AM -12:00 PM. A minimum of 5 participants is required for the event to run.
