Make a difference this Earth Day! Join Stowe Land Trust and Friends of the Winooski River to plant young native trees and shrubs along the edge of the Little River at one of SLT's owned properties - DuMont Meadow! Planting native trees and shrubs helps prevent riverbank erosion and improves flood resilience and water quality while also supporting native biodiversity and improving wildlife habitat.
Read more about DuMont Meadow here.
Make sure to wear sturdy footwear, bring water, and pack anything else you may need while planting trees. Please bring work gloves if you own them - Stowe Land Trust has a limited number of work gloves we can provide volunteers.
Can’t join us this time? No worries! Stay tuned for upcoming volunteer events and more opportunities to get outside and explore Stowe with us.
RSVP is required and the event is capped at 20 participants. Please use the event sign-up form below.
The DuMont Meadow trailhead area can only accommodate 4-5 cars. To limit the number of cars onsite, SLT staff are asking all participants to meet at the nearby Moscow Rec Field and carpool to the DuMont Meadow trailhead.
