Join us for a morning of trail work on the Hardwood Ridge Trail!
Help us care for one of Wiessner Woods' beloved trails! We’re looking for volunteers to join us for a morning of trail work focused on repairing and replacing puncheon bridges and assisting with other projects of need.
Puncheon bridges are simple structures that play a big role in protecting the land and making the trails safer and more enjoyable for everyone. With your help, we’ll keep the Hardwood Ridge Trail in good shape for the years ahead.
Why Join Us?
Whether you're a seasoned trail steward or just love spending time in the woods, this is a chance to roll up your sleeves with others and give back to the places you love. It's a short but meaningful two hours of teamwork, fresh air, and tangible impact.
We’ll provide tools and guidance—just bring sturdy shoes, water, snacks, and a readiness to dig in and make a difference!
What to Expect:
- Trail structure repair, including lifting, digging, and placing lumber
- Additional trail maintenance projects as time and group interest allows
- A fun, hands-on way to support conservation in your community
- Great for individuals, friends, and families with older kids
Please Bring:
- Sturdy footwear
- Work gloves, if you own them (SLT can provide gloves if needed)
- A water bottle, snacks, and whatever you need to be comfortable with the weather conditions of the day
RSVP is required; please use the event sign-up form below. A minimum of 5 volunteers are needed for the program to run. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
