Volunteer Workday Planting Trees in a Riparian Zone!

Friday, October 24, 2025
PM – 4 PM

Join Stowe Land Trust for an afternoon of tree planting!

Help us care for Palmer River Corridor by volunteering to help us plant a few new native trees in the riparian zone - the important area along the Palmer River that helps protect water quality, minimize erosion, and support wildlife.

Why Join Us?

This is a fun, hands-on volunteer opportunity perfect for individuals or small groups looking to make a real impact in local conservation efforts!

What to Expect:

  • Digging holes to plant a small number of young native trees
  • Planting trees and backfilling with soil
  • Building and installing protective tree cages (to keep beavers at bay!)
  • Getting your hands dirty for a great cause!

Please Bring:

  • Sturdy footwear (boots recommended)
  • Work gloves (SLT can provide gloves if needed)
  • Water bottle and any snacks you may want
  • Weather-appropriate clothing

All participants must RSVP before the event; please use the event sign-up form below. Due to limited parking space and the small number of trees we will be planting in this site, a maximum of 6 volunteers is needed. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The tree plantings should take approximately 2 hours, but depending on number of volunteers, may be a bit shorter or longer than 2 hours.
