Volunteers from SunCommon in Waterbury planted 200 trees along the Little River at Moscow Recreation Field in Stowe May 7. This buffer will help stabilize the riverbank, filter water runoff before it reaches the river, and someday provide shade and habitat for aquatic species along the riverbank.

This volunteer day was organized by the Friends of the Winooski River and the Town of Stowe. Stowe Land Trust holds the conservation easement on the property and helped with planting and directing volunteers.
