An Update on Naturalist Programming

With the first flowers appearing, the chorus of returning birds, and the last of the winter snowpack melting away, there is no doubt that spring has arrived -- and with it, SLT’s 2020 Summer Naturalist. In these times of change and uncertainty, we remain committed to providing educational opportunities and are forging ahead with the Summer Naturalist Program this season. We are currently exploring new ways to interactively engage with local families, partner organizations and the land, safely and remotely. 

A number of Vermont organizations have been utilizing online platforms to produce and publish lesson and activity plans, including how-to videos, outside exploration, and interactive resources. As we take the time to develop our own unique programming, we encourage families to utilize the resources listed below as they navigate at-home learning:

In the coming weeks, we will be increasing our social media presence through regular posts here on the Naturalist Journal, and additional activity on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Please follow along and share your own natural history observations as we come together, while apart, in celebration of spring!
