View from the top of Upper Overlook

We had a great time with MudCity Adventure’s “Mini Mudsters” group this morning at Sunset Rock! Four Mini Mudsters from MudCity Adventures and I went up Sunset Rock trail, a property with a conservation easement held by SLT and Vermont Housing & Conservation Board. Before we got started, I passed out binoculars, stuffed animal birds, and a plant scavenger hunt to do while on the trail. We had a nice hike up the trail where we looked at interesting plants & animals and admired the artistic trail markers. The trail markers that are located at Sunset Rock were made in 2018 by Ms. Kelly’s 4th grade art class from Stowe Elementary School! The markers kept us on the trail and we ended up at the Sunset Rock view where we stopped for snack and looked over Stowe Village. We continued to walk up the Upper Overlook trail, where we ran into a structure made from sticks. At the top of the Upper Overlook trail, we sat, had another snack break, and admired the view of Mount Mansfield.
