Join Audubon Vermont's Senior Program Manager of Forests, Steve Hagenbuch, for a special guided walk through the beautiful Trapps forest – protected in partnership with Stowe Land Trust.
With more than 25 years at Audubon VT, Steve has held a variety of roles and now focuses on expanding the Bird-Friendly Maple Program across VT and the U.S.
During this walk, you’ll learn how thoughtful forest management benefits birds, forests, and maple production.
The von Trapp property has a rich sugaring tradition with ~2,000 trees tapped each spring, producing over 500 gallons of maple syrup in a typical year. This legacy dates back to the 1940s, when Maria von Trapp and her family first began tapping these very trees.
RSVP is required. Please RSVP below!
