With the Adams Camp Connector now permanently conserved, we are well underway in planning two new public trails: a three-season hiking and mountain biking connector, and a winter ski and snowshoe trail. These trails will provide seamless access from Adams Camp to the Village of Stowe via the Stowe Recreation Path, opening exciting new recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors.

While trail construction has not yet begun, extensive planning and behind-the-scenes work are already underway to ensure the trails are designed to be safe, sustainable, and environmentally sensitive. The property’s rich natural features, including wetlands, streams, and deer wintering areas, require careful design and regulatory approvals, and we are working to secure permits and meet all environmental standards.

Stowe Land Trust is working with partners including Stowe Trails Partnership, Catamount Trail Association, Stowe Nordic, and the Mount Mansfield Academy, who are playing an important role in the creation of the trails and will eventually manage and maintain them. Routes are being planned to minimize environmental impact, limit tree removal, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the trail network.

From planning to construction, this project is expected to take a couple of years. We are grateful for the community’s support and patience as we create trails that provide memorable recreational experiences while preserving the natural beauty and character of Adams Camp Connector for generations to come.
