The Stowehof is the newest partner to join Stowe Land Trust’s Hotel Partnership program which gives guests an easy way to give back to Stowe so that it will always remain a special place to visit. For every night’s stay at The Stowehof, a $1 nightly donation goes to Stowe Land Trust. These voluntary donations are used to support our work to conserve Stowe's important natural resources.

For The Stowehof General Manager, Kendra Young, the partnership was an obvious choice. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support the important work of Stowe Land Trust, which is so critical in preserving the open spaces and essential character of Stowe.”

The Stowehof is next door to Wiessner Woods – a beloved community recreation area that was donated to SLT by the family of Fritz Wiessner in 1992. Wiessner was a world famous mountaineer who loved his land on Edson Hill as well as The Stowehof, which he made his home in the 1980s. Today, Wiessner’s legacy and spirit continue to be celebrated both at The Stowehof and its beloved ratskeller “Fritz Bar”, and in Wiessner Woods, whose trails are open to the public for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

SLT has similar hotel partnerships with two other hotels in Stowe: Trapp Family Lodge and Topnotch Resort and Spa.  “We are thrilled to add The Stowehof to our select group of hotel partners,” said Caitrin Maloney, executive director of SLT. “Just like our mountains, forests, and farms, The Stowehof is part of what makes Stowe unique. Giving visitors the opportunity to participate in the land trust’s local conservation work while enjoying all that Stowe has to offer is a win-win.”
