Stowe Land Trust staff recently returned from the Rally 2012 National Land Conservation Conference that took place in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Rally brings land trust staff and board members together to learn, share ideas and inspire one another to strengthen the work we do in our local communities.  This important event is hosted around the country to highlight the diverse landscapes the 1700+ land trusts work to protect.

This year at Rally we were able to help Vermont Land Trust celebrate receiving national accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.  VLT was among 22 land trusts to join the ranks of nearly 200 accredited land trusts, bringing the total accredited in Vermont to four.  Stowe Land Trust received national accreditation in 2010.  Learn more about SLT's accredited status.

Over the course of the four day event a number of workshops and seminars were offered covering topics ranging from the use of social media to federal tax deductions demystified.  SLT staff made the most of the event by attending dozens of sessions and networking with colleagues from across the country.

We hope you will attend SLT’s 25th Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 4th from 4-6pm at Trapp Family Lodge to find out some of what we learned and learn about SLT’s plans for the future.  You can RSVP online or call 802.253.7221.
