Join Stowe Land Trust for a walk and talk about forest management, led by County Forester Emily Sayers and Acceptable Management Practices Forester Rick Dyer from the VT Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation.
What you'll learn:
- Forest management strategies when planning and executing a timber or salvage harvest
- Silviculture (the art and science of managing forests)
- Operational techniques for protecting water quality
What you'll need:
- Sturdy hiking footwear
- Any water and snacks you need for a two-hour walk
- Weather-appropriate layers
Come prepared for an active walk outdoors. Participants should be comfortable hiking ~2 miles. Location is TBD but will be confirmed for participants via email in advance of the walk. We hope to see you there!
