Join Stowe Land Trust for an informative and interactive outing focused on invasive plant identification and removal, led by Noah Hoffman, Invasive Species Coordinator with the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to identify common invasive plants in the Stowe area
- Effective removal techniques: which tools to use, when, and how
What to Bring:
- Sturdy hiking footwear
- Backpack with water, snacks, and weather-appropriate layers
- Option to bring your own tools if preferred (SLT will provide a limited number of tools, gloves, and eye protection).
We’ll be learning in the field and using DuMont Meadow as our classroom, so please come prepared for an active workshop outdoors. Participants should be comfortable hiking 1-1.5 miles while carrying tools. We hope to see you there!
Please meet at the DuMont Meadow trailhead at 1:55 p.m.Please note the parking area is fairly small, and cars will have to be parked close together. Please try to carpool if you know someone else attending this event. And, if you know you have to leave the event early, try to be the last one to park to ensure your car is not blocked in.
This event requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.
